Wyee Structure Plan

About this project

Council is making a new Wyee Structure Plan to guide growth and change in Wyee over the next 20 years.

This discussion paper is the first step in creating that Plan. Share your feedback on the discussion paper by completing the survey before 14 January 2026.

Your feedback will be used to help shape the Wyee Structure Plan. When ready, the draft Structure Plan will go on public exhibition for further comunity feedback.

Wyee is part of the Greater Morisset Growth Area identified in the NSW Government’s Hunter Regional Plan 2041. In the next 20 years, the population of Wyee is expected grow to 5,200 people (78% increase from the 2021 population). This growth is expected to be accompanied by a wider range of jobs, changes to land use and need for additional infrastructure including transport, utility services, telecommunications, services, health and education.

Coordinated planning in the Structure Plan will help ensure that future growth is cohesive and enhances the quality of life for residents.

The Structure Plan will be aligned with the planning priorities in Council’s Local Strategic Planning Statement and the NSW Government’s Greater Newcastle Metropolitan Plan and the Hunter Regional Plan.
